Competitions and Games
November 14th, 2011 by Soundbite Pro in Audience Response System GuidelinesA powerful feature of our audience response systems is the ability to use it for competition and team games.
The voting session takes place in exactly the same way as any other voting session format with a correct indicator that appears next to the correct answer once everybody has voted.
- Before the session we assign points to each correct answer.
- Anytime throughout the session we can display a leader board that accumulates the points from all previous questions.
Below is an example of a team score leader board. As with question slides this is totally customisable.

There are two types of competitions. Either individual games or team games.
Individual Games (non team)
With individual games this is where effectively there are no teams but individuals who are competing. Each keypad is pre assigned a name. This can be the name of the individual person.
Another feature of the individual games is a fastest responder leader board. These are useful when there is a tie break. A question can be put up and the person who answers the quickest will be a the top of the leader board.
Team Games
This as the name suggests is where each member of a team has there own keypad.
The voting format is exactly the same as individual games however the scores for each team is the average score of that team. Not the total score. This means any team that has an extra person does not pose so much of a disadvantage.
Note: The system will only allow up to 10 teams.
Assigning team names to keypads
When we run games we do have to pre assign names to each keypad. The most robust method of doing this is by pre assigning teams names before the session. However one other method is to assign them by throwing a question on screen and asking the delegates to select what team they are on from their keypads.
